The hotel was absolutely wonderful from the minute we arrived to the time we left. Not only is it stunning with gorgeous grounds, but the hotel is clean, nicely presented and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we had such a good night's sleep both nights we stayed. I also really appreciated that there was a bath in the room as i prefer a bath over a shower. The staff were extremely welcoming and made our stay one to remember. They literally couldn't do enough for us. We opted for breakfast during our stay and we were so glad we did. The food was plentiful and delicious and again with a stunning view - absolutely perfect! Location again was great - a 10 min walk into the town centre.

Breakfast was fine but nothing special. Fruit, yogurt or cereals were available to help yourself. Only one pastry was out which was cold and unappealing. Not many guests were at breakfast and so croissants/pastries could have been warmed and offered on arrival. Quite a long wait to receive coffee, I would have preferred to help myself. Hot breakfast was very limited, one hash brown, half a fresh tomato, one sausage, one bacon, one egg and the smallest portion of beans I’ve ever seen! We paid £12.50 for the very lack lustre breakfast; this let the stay down as the standard twin room was faultless and spotlessly clean, all credit to the ‘housekeeping team’. Lovely quiet room and view outlook onto grounds and the river.

WOW..from arrival to leaving we all had an exceptional time at Sysonby Knoll. We travelled over from the US to meet up with family in an easy location for us all. On arrival we were welcomed by Pete and he put everything in place for our stay, nothing was to much trouble. our rooms were amazing and the food fantastic. The restaurant team went above and beyond to serve our family the grandchildren all under 8 years loved the fuss given towards them. We could even have our family dog visit so we could catch up with him for cuddles too. The location of the gardens and easy walk into Melton Mowbray are excellent. We will most certainly be returning in the future

The house has a huge beautiful garden, with different seating options, spread out across the grounds so that they can be enjoyed without being crowded. There is lots of wildlife to be observed especially first thing and at dusk (foxes, deer, all sorts of birds). The house looks out over miles of countryside. The four poster room was reasonably priced, very comfortable, and quiet. We had the best night’s sleep we’d had in a long time. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and made it feel like a home from home.

Location was good, staff service was very good. Layout of public rooms was good. Restaurant was bright and airy and not overcrowded. Menu offered a multi choice and not pages of fare. Food cooked to order , was fresh and hot and well presented. Lyndsay and Elizabeth looked after us very well. The grounds are extensive and well laid out offering great views of the countryside. Our stay represented good value for money and if I was in the area in the future I would stay at the Sysonby Knoll.
